What is it about a picture? For a mommy of 3 like myself, it’s capturing a moment that very simply will never be the same in my lightning speed pace of life. A little helpful hand or a curious smile. A bright idea…or a moment we would prefer to have not happened but that makes us ‘bigger’ just the same. A picture is a delight to the heart of this mom…and when it’s their Daddy making them smile, this heart is soaring. I want my photographs to unravel the complexity of family, the simplicity of a smile, the fullness of a grasp, and place them gently in a frame or on a canvas to show the world.

My oldest son and I made an early morning trip Saturday morning to see the cherry blossoms..The blooms were still in their ‘puffy white’ stage but still beautiful! I enjoyed working on some more detailed shots of the blooms along with the beautiful landscape!

What a special opportunity it was to photograph this sweet 11 days new baby girl. She was such a little angel and fell quickly into that deep newborn sleep…we just did a few shots on the beanbag and I think they are lovely

Wow, was I blessed to be able to photograph this GORGEOUS couple who recently became engaged. Can you say amazing to the light in these pictures? It was pushing 68 degrees and it’s JANUARY!!! 
The crew over at I Heart Faces have requested we put our best face forward for the first photo challenge of the year. This was a very difficult thing to do as I narrowed it down to about 5 photos which I just adore from the past year. I recruited some friends to help me decide and this was the favorite!

I had so much fun trying out some new lenses a few weeks ago. This included the Canon 70-200mm 2.8L ISII. This lens is huge!! (we’re talking long lens like the ones you see photogs get run over with in the middle of a football games). It was incredible to work with and needless to say it has been added to my ‘wish’ list. I am so grateful to my beautiful sister and her family for letting me do some shots for their holiday card. This post is a little past due, but still wanted to get it up here on the blog!

I had the pleasure of photographing one of my favorite people a few weeks back along with her equally impressive fiance. I shared this in an earlier post, but these two had been sky diving the previous weekend so they were up to any and all challenges during our session. The pictures should speak volumes to this point. I just love this sweet adventurous couple who have been such a blessing to my family. It was a cold November afternoon…and a very WINDY windy afternoon…but The M family were troopers and we went ahead with our scheduled session. And I was so happy we did because we came up with some beautiful shots!!! Such a stunning fall afternoon and a stunning family to capture!
